Loving this.

All of the interns and I start our journey together tomorrow at noon.  8 of the 11 girls have been hanging out together in Georgia and it has been awesome to get to know them so far!  I know this summer is going to be amazing with all of them and we are all going to have such a good time together.  We are leaving tonight from Powder Springs, GA to head over to Duluth, GA to stay with more of the interns.  Then we go to the BigStuf House tomorrow at noon.  We will all head over to Camp Highland and do team bonding drills using high ropes and low ropes courses.  After Camp Highland we are all heading to Haiti on Monday morning.  It has been mass chaos the past few hours at Daniella's house because all eight girls are packing and re-packing to try to get one bag for Camp Highland and one bag, yes, one bag, a carry-on for that matter, for Haiti!  Wish us luck! ;)  Please be praying for all of us for safe travels and for safety in Haiti.  Also, please be praying for us to grow together as a group and touch the lives of all of the people we come in contact with. 

I wanted to give a quick shout-out to my girl/ lil sis, Allison Gregg, who got 3rd place in the 3000 meter run today at State! Wish I could have been there Allison, I am so proud of you and good luck the rest of the week!  Love you!<3

I will put another post up as soon as I get a chance when I get back to the States.  I am loving this whole experience so far, and it has barely started!  Can't wait to see all that God has in store for us this summer!  Love you all!

Goodbye Sarasota..

So, this past week I have stayed with my Grandpa at his condo in Sarasota, Florida!  This has been an amazing week to relax and spend some time with my grandpa and Sue!  They took me to Siesta Key Beach for breakfast one morning and Sue took me to some shops on Longboat Key.  I have loved getting to spend time with both of them this past week!  Also, it has been real nice to get to be in some nice weather for a change, I understand why my grandpa comes down here every winter, thats for sure!  For those of you who know me well, you know that I am a very picky eater.  Well my grandpa got me to eat broccoli, a snow pea, bananas, and grouper (fish).  He told me that if he had a month with me he would get me eating everything and not being picky anymore.  (I don't think that could happen!)
My grandpa and I are leaving Sarasota tomorrow morning at 6:00 AM et to drive to a suburb of Atlanta to stay with one of the interns for a couple days.  Then we are going to a different suburb of Atlanta on Thursday night to stay with a different intern which is closer to where we need to be for Friday.  On Friday, we are meeting all of the interns at the BigStuf House in Alpharetta.  We will be doing some training and team bonding then off to Haiti for five days on Monday!  I am so excited to meet all of the interns, I can't believe that it is finally here!  Please be praying for all of the interns as we get to meet each other, that relationships will grow so that we are a sturdy team relying on Jesus Christ and that we all bond together to do the work that God has called each and everyone of us to do! Finally here!!!

So I leave today.  I can't believe that it is finally here, I feel like it was just yesterday that I got the call from BigStuf saying that I got the internship!  I leave today from Cedar Rapids to fly to St. Petersburg, Florida where my grandpa will be coming to pick me up.  I am staying with him and Sue for about a week down in Sarasota then he is driving me to a suburb of Atlanta to stay with one of the interns for a couple days.  I finally get to meet all of the interns on the 20th!  All 17 of us have been communicating on Facebook together and it's weird to think that I haven't ever met them, because I feel like I know them so well already! 
For those of you who know my mother, you know that today will not be one of her best days! ;)  She has already cried twice this morning, so if you see her, make sure to give her a hug or send her an encouraging text message!  (She will be a wreck) 
 I am extremely excited to start my summer, but I am nervous and sad to be leaving Cedar Falls and all of the people that I love here.  But I know that this is what God wants me to do be doing and I can't wait to see what He has planned for the summer!   Please be praying for safe travels for me and the other interns as all of us make our way to Alpharetta, GA on the 20th!
